Warehouse Associate/Forklift Driver

Position: Full-time

  • Location: Ruakura, Hamilton.

A mixture of AM/PM shifts available and on weekends.

IMPORTANT: Will be in a chilled/very cold environment.

 

Day-to-day responsibilities of the role:

  • Ensure work is completed in a safe manner to ensure that both yourself and your team members go home unharmed each day
  • Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to work schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship)
  • Receive and process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store)
  • Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits
  • Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization, and report any issues immediately to the Operations Manager or Supervisor
  • Complete diary logs for all inventory using the Warehouse Management System
  • Freeze down product as required using site Blast Freezers
  • Report any discrepancies through to supervisory team, or management
  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and colleagues
  • Operate and maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment
  • Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations
  • Assist with training and development of warehouse operators and other team members
  • Continuously looking for ways to improve processes and efficiencies in the warehouse
  • Have a proactive approach, calling out to your management when observing any issues affecting the department, warehouse or other areas of the business
  • Being an example to other staff of the standard of employee Maersk wants to have driving the business forward

Candidate skills and experience:

  • Experience in a chilled environment
  • Experience in warehousing and distribution centers
  • Experienced in working within MPI RMP facilities
  • Experience with Satellite Racking is advantageous
  • Experience with Blast Freezing is advantageous
  • Must have Forklift license
  • Knowledge of OH&S policies
  • Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems
  • Warehouse skills with high-level of customer orientation
