Night Shift Inventory Rockstar: Lead the Charge at Our Cutting-Edge Coolstore! (Ruakura Hamilton)

Position: Full-time

We are seeking a skilled Inventory Lead to join the team at our brand-new, state-of-the-art Coolstore located in Ruakura, Hamilton. This is a unique opportunity to lead and develop a new team within a cutting-edge, environmentally friendly facility supporting New Zealand’s primary industry sector.

Hours are: Monday to Friday – 10pm to 6am.

Day-to-day responsibilities of the role:

As the Inventory Lead, you’ll be the mastermind behind the scenes, ensuring:

  • Inventory Accuracy: You’ll be the guardian of our inventory, ensuring everything is meticulously tracked and accounted for.
  • Operational Efficiency: Working hand-in-hand with Operations Management and the Order Management Planner, you’ll optimize space utilization and product zoning for maximum customer efficiency.
  • Team Leadership: You’ll provide guidance and support to your team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
  • Quality & Compliance: You’ll oversee inventory quality & accuracy programs, adhering to strict industry standards and customer requirements.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Here’s a glimpse into your daily tasks:
    • Master of Inventory Management: Ensure accurate stock reconciliation, conduct quality checks, and lead root cause analysis for any discrepancies.
    • Planning Pro: Plan and manage annual stock counts, ensuring compliance with Maersk guidelines.
    • Team Coach & Mentor: Provide leadership and support to your team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
    • Communication Champion: Collaborate effectively with the Operations Manager, Order Management Planner, and other departments.
    • Safety First: Champion safety standards for all inventory management processes.

Candidate skills and experience:

  • Warehouse/distribution background, or related qualification.
  • Previous Inventory Supervision experience in a cold store environment.
  • Experience with internal and external audits.
  • Experience with MPI requirements for Primary Industries.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Warehouse Management Systems.
  • The ability to work autonomously under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong leadership, motivation, and team engagement skills.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of logistics operations, including receiving, warehousing, and shipping procedures.
